YACHT RIGGING & ROPE SPLICING COURSE AIMS:
We will help you understand how to set up and maintain your rig, how to splice like a pro, and service your yacht winches and deck hardware.
“Yacht Rigging & Rope Splicing” is one of our home-grown courses that our instructors have written and developed. To our knowledge, there is no other course like it. The course is taught by an experienced rigger who will open your eyes to his world. You will spend the morning learning about rigging and some of the causes of rig failure. Half the afternoon is spent on servicing deck hardware such as winches and the remainder of the day is devoted to splicing different types of ropes.

A mixture of classroom and hands-on training including:
- Rig layout & formations
- Rig inspections
- Rig tuning
- Going aloft (theory)
- Servicing winches & deck hardware
- Splicing (3 strands, Dyneema, and braid on braid)
- Sailmaker’s Whipping
